The Process

How it works for your studio

  1. 01

Send your client to studiomeds.com before their appointment. We give you a blurb you can copy. See below.

  2. 02

    They complete the online evaluation.

  3. 03

A Michigan-licensed physician reviews it and emails their prescription, usually within a few hours.

  4. 04

They bring the prescription and the medications (Bactine Max Spray and Aspercreme with 4% lidocaine, both over the counter) to their appointment. You file with their paperwork.

No catch

The Fine Print

  • · Prescription required for any numbing agent, including over-the-counter products applied by the client.
  • · One prescription per session. New session, new prescription.
  • · Medications are available over the counter. Some are stocked at most drug stores and big-box stores; others, like Zensa for lip blush and permanent eyeliner, are easier to find online. The rule requires the prescription, not where you buy from.
  • · You're required to keep the prescription on file for every appointment.
